Zhou Guanghong, president of NAU and professor in the Department of Food Science, has been elected a Fellow of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology.
Through his research in meat processing technology and meat quality and safety, Zhou is being recognized for his contributions to the growth of China's traditional meat products as well as the development of China’s modern chilled meat and meat products industry.
Established in 1998, IAFoST is the non-aligned advisory body of food scientists, technologists and engineers supporting the activities of the International Union of Food Science and Technology through their professional expertise. IAFoST Fellows are “distinguished by their scientific and professional contributions” and “acknowledged by their peers as outstanding representatives of international food science and technology”. As one of the more than 200 Fellows of the Academy, Zhou will serve in an independent capacity offering advice and insight to the IUFoST membership and as a model of ethics and scientific rigor in carrying out the vision of the IUFoST:To Strengthen Global Food Science and Technology for Humanity.
Zhou will join his fellow honorees to be inducted at the 19th World Congress of Food Science and Technology in Mumbai this October.
